Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Slash Horizons collects through this website, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep it deliberately short because we collect very little. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are
Slash Horizons is an early-stage venture within the Slash Group, based in Brisbane, Australia. For anything in this policy, you can reach us at hello@slashhorizons.com.
What we collect
Three things, and nothing else.
- The early access form. If you join the early access list on our home page, we receive what you put into it: your name and email address, plus — only if you choose to give them — your current role or stage, how soon you are looking to move, and your answer to “what are you trying to figure out right now?”. Only name and email are required.
- Email you send us. Your name, address, and whatever you tell us in the message.
- Anonymised usage statistics via Google Analytics — only if you accept cookies (see below).
We don't use advertising trackers, we don't sell data, and we don't build marketing profiles. Joining the early access list signs you up for one thing and one thing only: email from us about Build Your Horizon. It is not a general newsletter, we won't pass your address to anyone else, and you can ask us to remove you at any time by replying to any email we send or writing to hello@slashhorizons.com.
Please don't send us anyone else's personal information through the form. If what you are working out involves other people, describe the role or the situation rather than naming them.
Cookies and analytics
By default we set no analytics or advertising cookies. On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner, and analytics only runs if you choose “Accept”. If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 with Google's Consent Mode and IP anonymisation enabled, to understand which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. See the Google Privacy Policy. You can change your mind anytime by clearing this site's cookies or blocking cookies in your browser; declining doesn't affect your use of the site.
How we use your information
We use what you send us — by form or by email — for two purposes: to email you about Build Your Horizon as it takes shape, and to reply to you and continue that conversation if it goes further. We also read the answers to “what are you trying to figure out right now?” to decide what to build first; when that thinking shows up publicly it is as a pattern across many answers, never as your words attributed to you. We use analytics (with consent) only to understand which pages get visited. We don't use your information for automated decision-making, and nothing on this site profiles or scores you.
How the early access form works
It is deliberately simple. When you submit it, the contents are checked and then emailed to our own inbox through Resend, our email delivery provider. There is no database, mailing-list platform or customer system behind this website — your signup lives in our email inbox and nowhere else, which is also why there is no unsubscribe link to click: you reply, and we remove you. We keep a server log recording that a signup was delivered and which timeframe it selected; that log deliberately contains none of your personal information.
If our email provider is unavailable, the form tells you it failed and shows you our address so you can email us directly. It will never tell you you are on the list when you are not.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Resend — delivers early access signups to our inbox, and processes what you submitted in order to send it.
- Microsoft 365 — hosts the mailbox your signup or email arrives in.
- Vercel — hosts this website, and processes the request logs any web host necessarily sees, such as IP address and browser type.
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage measurement, only if you consent.
We don't otherwise disclose your information, except where required by law. Some of these providers are based overseas (for example, in the United States), so your information may be processed outside Australia. We only use providers we consider to take reasonable steps to protect it.
How long we keep it
Signups and emails stay in our inbox for as long as they're useful for the conversation and our business records, and we remove them when they're no longer needed. If you ask us to take you off the list or delete what you sent, we will. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — this site is served over HTTPS, our credentials are kept out of the codebase, and signups go to a mailbox only the founding team can read. We are a small early-stage team rather than a certified security operation, and no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, so we would rather describe what we actually do than claim more than that.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@slashhorizons.com and we'll help. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first — we'll take it seriously. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
What this policy does not cover
This policy covers this website — the early access form, email you send us, and analytics. That is all the personal information Slash Horizons currently collects through any system.
It does not govern information handled inside a paid engagement. If we go on to do organisational work with you, that involves a different kind of information — interviews, development and progression material, internal documents and manager input — and it is governed by the confidentiality terms, scope and data-handling arrangements agreed in writing for that engagement, before it starts. We are not going to pre-empt those terms here, and no page on this site should be read as them.
Build Your Horizon does not exist yet. It is in design, which means there is no account, no saved plan, no evidence upload and no cohort record in operation today, and this policy makes no claims about any of them. When they exist, this policy will be extended before they collect anything — and joining the early access list does not create an account or store anything beyond the email described above.
Children
This site is aimed at working adults, not children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page as Slash Horizons grows and our practices evolve; the current version always lives here with its “last updated” date. Questions? Email hello@slashhorizons.com.
